Strict requirements (Standalone Installation, Single Node)
- vTX must be enabled
- at least 4core processor, better if you have TPM but not necessary
- at least 16 GB Ram
- at least 200GB SSD Boot
- at least 1 x NIC 1Gbps
Thing to be checked
- In the USB installation, always check that the USB drive is UNSELECTED during the selection of destination installation boot disk
- Always create the bond0 (and other if needed) during the initial installation to be sure everyting will reflect your desired network topolgy since the first boot
Image Upload
- Prepare your .iso files accordingly. Here you can find some isos that could be useful
- Keep in mind tha the image upload has a LOWER priority compared to the normal VMs workload activities, indeed it could happen that it suspend itself due to too high load on the nodes, In that case you need to resume (click Continue) it from the active Tasks
Windows VMs Creation
- Always select q35 architecture and QXL Video Drivers (64MB dedicated RAM)
- Enable Hyper-V features (in advanced options)
- When possible, go for Passthrough CPU. This is feasible only if clusterscompute nodes are really the same model. Alternatilvely, use None, QEMU prcessors will be used and will make the machine MORE COMPATIBLE during the migration across nodes
- Use virtio SCSI for disk
- Use virtio network for network
- Use UEFI Bios
- Put as first boot devices DVD
- Alway add an additional DVD Drive to load the virtio Drivers (check in the online shared folder) on boot
- for the administration, spice protocol is preferred (also for VDI purposes). Alternatively use the VNC protocol or the web-console in the main NexaVM administration console
- after the VMTools Installation, install the spiceguest additions downloading it from the shared folder above
